Day 2 of the DotA 2 international tournament is over, with the results and winners all shown above (sorry for spoilers!) For anyone following the live blogging, my internet crapped out halfway through the OK.Nirvana.CN vs. Mineski game, which I heard was actually the most epic of the day, so sorry for that. The rest of the day however marked the first elimination games and the first teams leaving the tournament. CHECK OUT THE HERO STATS/USAGE!
SGC dropped to Virus in the Loser Bracket, with a rather one-sided game in terms of hero kills up to the end (22 - 7 or something like that), with the game-decider coming as a split push with Furion and a farmed Mirana up top, finally dropping the Shadowfiend and winning the game when SF had no buybacks.
GGnet was then eliminated from the tournament by MITH-TRUST in a great game for Morphling fans, as Mith's morphling had freefarm for arguably the entire time and was unstoppable, ultimately pushing the bottom lane by himself completely. Check out the live blog for more details!
nevo was eliminated by MUFC through excellent weaver play, ending up with stellar farm and great team support by the Chen and the Beastmaster - once again, check out the live blog for more details.
In the winner bracket, EHOME started off versus TyLoo in a clash of Chinese teams. EHOME was able to take a very convincing lead and drew out the game rather long in a typical "Chinese" fashion, and with 1 million $$$ on the line, was able to drop TyLoo into the losers bracket.
OK.int then dropped a match to iG, which some people thought to be very surprising, although I believe iG to be one of the strongest teams of the tournament. It was a fantastic game (I personally believe the best game of the day, though I didn't catch the Mineski game) and very close with some fantastic play by the Lion on iG, with iG finally able to push bottom after a successful gank. Their farmed weaver was able to outcarry the Faceless Void and after pushing bottom rax, were able to win the game and drop OK.int
Na'Vi, one of the tournament favorites then managed to defeat M5 from Russia in a nail-biter, with M5 even looking stronger towards the end. However, Na'Vi had a very clutch sentry ward that spotted an invisible Storm Spirit and after disposing of him, managed to end the game (check out more details in the liveblog!)
MYM then fell versus Scythe in a very good match, but just could not hold off versus a super farmed Mirana, which seems to be a trend seen a lot today. Tomorrow marks the third day of the DotA 2 tournament, with the Winners Bracket Semifinals and then Losers Bracket Rounds 2 and 3. I will, once again, be live blogging and recapping so if you enjoyed today's liveblog, make sure to tune it tomorrow and tell your friends! Schedule of games is below:
